Matthew Maness
Tenor

Mr. Maness was most recently seen performing Alfred in Center City Opera’s production of Die Fledermaus. At Center City, Matthew Performed five leading roles, including the world premiere of Danse Russe by Pulitzer prize winning composer Paul Moravec at The Kimmel Center. Matthew made his debut with Florida Grand Opera in 2009, where he performed the First Villager in Pagliacci. Mr. Maness has also performed at the Adrienne Arsht Center, The Olympia Theater and at Opera Delaware. Performed roles include: Jenik in The Bartered Bride, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, The Lover in Amelia Goes to the Ball, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, and Monostatos in The Magic Flute. Matthew has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Vocal Performance from the New World School of the Arts, and continues to study with Manny Perez in Miami, Florida.
 

Yndira Marrero

The 22 year old Cuban Italian Soprano grew up touring Europe performing the classical Neapolitan repertoire under the teachings of Maestro Silvano Polidori. With Cento Voci per il Giubileo, she performed for his excellence the Pope Giovanni Paolo II. As a young teen, she became the 1st place winner of the 2001 Disney Paris Festival, also debuted in television as one of the host of “Zitti Tutti...Parlano loro” in Rome, and in theatre as Cosette in the French production of “Les Miserables” by Victor Hugo. She has been a part of various theater performances in the United States and abroad including “The Sound of the Fairies” by Disney Producer Raul Abramzon, and “La Revolsosa” produced by Pro-Arte Grateli.

José Antonio Navarro, tenor, (Spain). Studies with Dalmau Gonzalez, Amparo Garcia Cruells, Jaume Aragall, Enriqueta Tarrés, Victoria de los Ángeles, Carlos Chausson and Carlos Conde. In USA role preparation at the Opera Atelier. Over 300 performances since 2009, all throughout Spain. He participated in: Anthology in Black and White, Serrano and Chapí 100 years of Music, The Drama of Love at the Opera, La Placa "Anthology Lyric" Opera Festival, The bands, festivals. The Joy of Huerta, Leandro, Mozart Coronation Mass and Bach’ s Mass in B minor. In September he will perform at the Palau de la Musica in Valencia and in Castellon.
 

Sergio Navarro

Sergio Navarro, dramatic tenor. Studies: Voice with Jose Le Matt, Jesus G. Ruspoli, Hilda del Castillo. Since the late 1990s, he has performed with local lyric groups in the staging production of zarzuelas and operas. Presently, he continues his vocal studies with Cuban soprano Hilda del Castillo and has joined The Opera Atelier to develop his artistic career.
 

Nydia Noriega
Soprano

Nydia Camilla Noriega, soprano, is a recipient of the Capitol Records, Inc. Nat King Cole Memorial Scholarship. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Florida State University and a Master of Music from Boston University School for the Performing Arts. Consecutively in 1995 and 1996, Nydia won 1st. place in the National Association of Teachers of Singing, South Eastern Division Vocal Competition. The Urban Philharmonic Society, Inc. awarded Nydia 2nd place in the 2005 National Paul Robeson Vocal Competition. Nydia performed Giannetta in the Asian American Music Society’s production of Elisir d’amore. The University of Miami’s Opera Remixed production featured Nydia Noriega in the role of Maria Golovin from Menotti’s Maria Golovin, and the role of Kitty from Menotti’s L’ultimo Selvaggio. “The duo of Nydia Noriega and Andrew York in L’ultimo selvaggio was also an exquisite gift.” – El Nuevo Herald: “Menotti Remixed’, A Worthy Homage; written by Daniel Fernandez.
 

Marcela Peñaranda

Marcela Peñaranda, coloratura soprano, has been praised for her “bright and light voice with crystalline top notes”. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Ms. Peñaranda has been named Colombian Cultural Ambassador three times and has been invited to Brazil, Mexico and United States to participate as a soprano soloist, as well as with Comfenalco Santander’s Choir. She appeared recently with Florida Grand Opera as the Nursing sister in Suor Angelica and the First Handmaiden in Turandot. Ms Peñaranda performed recently in Opera Tonight, Night of Opera Concerts –concert series organized by the city of Doral-, and New York Night of Music. Her repertory includes Queen of the Night, Olympia, Lucia, and she is studying other roles as well. Ms. Peñaranda resides in Miami, Florida, where she studies with Manny Perez. Ms. Peñaranda is the 2011 winner of the opera competition sponsored by Sábado Gigante, Univisión..

Principal baritone, Cuban National Opera Career Highlights: Teatro alla Scala, Bolshoi, Teatro Comunale Verdi, Trieste, Opera de Nice,etc. Belonged to Voice Faculty, Barry University, where he made important contributions in music education.

Kunya Rowles

A native of Miami, FL, Kunya has performed both oratorio and opera throughout the South Florida area. Most recently, Mr. Rowley was seen as Marcellus in Carson Kievman's world premiere opera, "Hamlet", in which he was praised for his "impressive dramatic tenor [which] commanded attention" (South Florida Classical Review). Past roles include Ernesto in "Don Pasquale", the Ringmaster in Smetana's "The Bartered Bride", Conductor in Pasatieri's "La Divina", and Edwin in Gilbert and Sullivan's "Trial by Jury". In February, he will join the Opera Naples young artist program, where he will sing the role of Flute in Benjamin Britten's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Future roles also include the role of Bastien in Opera Atelier's production of Mozart's "Bastien und Bastienne" and the role of Peter in a new opera about the life of Anne Frank entitled “Yours Truly, Anne” by Michael Ross. Kunya holds a B.M. in Opera Performance from New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL.

The Sabina Christiansen Show”, which aired nation-wide on German television to showcase EXPO 2000 in Hanover, Germany.CBS TV’s “Eye on the People”, and WLRN TV “Beethoven and More”.
